Thanks for your help in supporting our communities!
Volunteering is an easy way to get involved with your community. The first time I started volunteering was to help out with the local 911 camps. 911 camp is held in Maize and it teaches kids ages six to thirteen about law enforcement and safety. The camps are typically four days long and during that time they have the fire department, bomb squad, swat team, k-9 unit, 911 dispatch, and motor unit come out to talk to the kids. I volunteered to be a camp counselor for each of the three camps over a few summers. The job of a counselor is to help keep an eye on the kids and help make sure the camp runs smoothly. Another way I like to volunteer my time is by making donations to the troops. Every year, around the holiday season, there are always opportunities to make donations to the troops overseas. My mom and I always go to Walmart or a dollar store and try to get as many items on the list as we can so we can donate to those fighting for our country.

My name is Trinity Breeze, and this is part of my garden! We grow much more than just tomatoes, but they really were the highlight of this season. We harvest every week and that's about how many tomatoes we get. Going green goes far beyond gardening, or turning the lights off when you aren't using them, there's a creativity to it! Find ways to reuse things and little ways to save. The Earth is your oyster!
Going Green and Volunteering!
NHS would like to invite you to participate in our mission of going green and volunteering! Every few weeks someone who has been doing their share in bettering the world will be featured on the MVPS Weebly site. If you want to be featured, just send a snippet of what you’re doing and a picture to email@example.com.
Green activities include, but are not limited to, recycling, picking up trash, and planting community gardens. If you want more ideas for going green, check out these green tips! You can learn to be green and track your green activities by visiting Recyclebank.
You can also be a community leader in other ways. A few ideas include serving at shelters, tutoring, and volunteering at your local library.
Let us know what you are doing to make an impact on your community. We want to know, and we want to share your ideas with the school.
NHS has been working on some really incredible events and we are approaching the first one. We are bringing the Flood Buckets Back! Due to all the natural disasters happening in our world right now and all the devastation, we thought it only right to give back some. So we are asking for your help in doing so!
How to help?
We are going to be collecting SUPPLIES and MONEY from both pumpkin patch events on the 10th and 11th of October. So, come to this event with one of supplies on the list below or bring a little cash you can donate.
